II Festival of Documentary Films and Media Projects

1.  Generals

1.1 This regulation determines the procedure and conditions for holding the II International Festival of Documentary Films and Media Projects “Liniya Fronta” (translates into English as “Front Line”)

1.2 The founder and the organizer of the II International Festival of Documentary Film and Media Projects “Front Line” is the Rostov regional search organization “Mius-Front”.

1.3 The II International Festival of Documentary Film and Media Projects “Liniya Fronta” is held with the support of the Russian Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

2.  Purposes

2.1. The main purpose of the II International Festival of Documentary Film and Media Projects “Liniya Fronta” is developing and supporting documentary filmmaking that works in line with traditional spiritual and moral values, as well as the identification and support of talented documentary film directors, cameramen and creators of television programs and media content, as well as war correspondents.

2.2 The II International Festival of Documentary Film and Media Projects “Front Line” is aimed at rising patriotism among documentary filmmakers and television, as well as identifying civil, humanitarian and social problems shown through documentary film and television.

3. Arrangements

3.1. The international festival of documentary films and media projects “Front Line” (hereinafter referred to as the Festival) is held annually. In 2024, the Festival will take place in Rostov-on-Don at December 3 to 6.

3.2. The Festival program includes an entertaining and educational program:

  • Opening ceremony;
  • competitive shows;
  • non-competition shows;
  • author meetings;
  • round tables;
  • master classes;
  • closing ceremony of the Festival.

3.3. As part of the Festival, a creative competition of documentaries and media projects (hereinafter referred to as the Competition) will be held, winners in 6 (six) nominations will be determined.

3.4. The Festival organizer reserves the right to establish special prizes and diplomas for Competition participants.

3.5.  Russian and foreign documentaries and television projects фтв цуи produced in 2022 – 2024 are accepted for the competition.

3.6. Works are accepted in Russian. Works in other languages ​​must be accompanied by subtitles in Russian.

3.7.  The competition is held in the following categories:

  • Full-length documentary (over 40 minutes);
  • Short documentary film (up to 40 min.);
  • Documentary film about Special Military Operation;
  • Report/story;
  • TV program;
  • Web project (website or project on social networks (VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Telegram, Rutube, YouTube) created at least 3 months before submitting an application for social media with a number of subscribers of at least 1000 users).

3.8. In each nomination, no more than 3 (three) winners of the competition are established: 2 (two) laureates and 1 (one) winner in the nomination.

3.9. The basis for participation in the Competition is an application filled out on this website.

3.10. The application should be accompanied by active links for viewing a documentary film, report, or television program.

  • The participants’ work must be posted on an accessible file hosting service and a download link must be provided to the Organizer.
  • Applications for the competition are accepted online on this Festival website from July 15 to October 15, 2024.
  • Materials submitted for the competition cannot be returned.
  • Materials submitted incompletely or in violation of the requirements specified in these Regulations will not be accepted for the competition.
  • Participation in the Competition is free.

4. Organization costs

4.1. The costs of transfer (arrival, departure) of the participants of the Festival finals, as well as accommodation, are borne by the Organizer if financially possible.

4.2. The Festival Organizing Committee does not deliver prizes to laureates who did not participate in the award ceremony.

5. Evaluation of the competition and summing up the results of the competition

5.1. To review and creatively evaluate the works submitted to the competition, a Festival jury is created, headed by the Chairman of the Jury. The composition of the Competition jury is formed and approved by the Festival Organizer.

5.2. The jury makes a decision for each participant in the competition by open voting.

5.3. The winners of the Competition receive diplomas of winners and diplomas of laureates, as well as diplomas in special nominations. The winners of the nominations also receive a prize statuette.

5.4. The highest award of the competition is the Grand Prix.

5.5. The list of films and media projects selected for the competition program will be published on the Festival website no later than two weeks before its start.

6. Final provisions

6.1. The Festival organizers reserve the right to use fragments of works submitted to the competition (up to 3 minutes long) for festival publications in the press and media, personal partner and social networks, as well as on the Festival website.
